Fake it til you make it

I’m sure you’ve heard this advice before- “fake it til you make it”. The thing is that it’s not really about faking it, it’s about stepping courageously into something you might not be quite ready for (or whatever your version of “not-enoughness” is). When you fake something the energy behind it is inherently inauthentic and people will pick up on it quickly. You also bring this sense of imposter syndrome, like what if they find out I’m not all that. It can feel like a heavy lift.

If you approach something with courage and grace, the energy behind it is authentic and attractive- it’s ok not to be the expert, not be the best, not to have all the answers. Own what you are and don’t worry about what you’re not.

Once you take the first step and start being in action your self confidence naturally grows. You did something you thought you couldn’t and by being in action you will improve the more you do.

So next time instead of fake it till you make it, face it till you ace it!
